A blog about the lives of a classical homeschooling family, in the idyllic Wet Coast, err, West Coast, of British Columbia. Oh, I know, it doesn't ALWAYS rain...it just seems like it.

Two Recipes
I posted a couple of recipes on my food blog. If you like mince pies, click here. If you like black bean soup, click here.
(Actually black bean soup aka can soup is one of my emergency dinners, especially if we find out at the last minute that lots of people are coming over and expecting food. I throw into my biggest pot and onion and some garlic, several cans of rinsed black beans, a couple of cans of diced tomatoes, a can of corn, a can of mushrooms, a few cans of water, and a big spoonful of cumin. And make corn bread if I can. And if I'm lucky there's some sour cream to dollop the top, otherwise just a sprinkle of old cheddar.)
Food is a worthy object of your love, Samantha! It's not a heavily added-to blog, I have to say; I started it because a friend wanted my muffin recipe, and I was in a rather wanton Blog Mood ("another blog? whyever not?").
Nicola, you must post your recipes. I'd love to see how your mincemeat differs from mine.
Becky, you nut, of course you can come over anyway! The bottle of gin, I mean, the coffee pot, is always on. It's much nicer having someone else make them, isn't it?

You have a food blog?! I love food!
Hmm, now I must wonder what other secrets Sheila has... ;-)
I love mince pies. I make my own mincemeat and pastry but my recipes are very different from yours. December just isn't the same without mince pies!
I like both. When's dinner?
Oh.
You mean we can cook them *ourselves*.
That's not really as festive, is it?!

Can I come over anyway?!

The benefit of gin being that it doesn't need hotting up...
:)
Hic.
