Gosh! Did you actually make that Sheila? OK, expect me over tomorrow! LOL. Honestly, now you HAVE to write a book.

Yikes, missing visual verification...why has this been happening so often lately? Are you hiding them on purpose? (evil wink).

Aaah...so it's farie. Why oh why-ee do you live so farie?

How fun, Shelia. You're so creative. Are they made of marzipan? And is that green licorice rope on the ends of the carrots? I didn't know licorice came in green.

Well, I can't take total credit - we saw the peas and carrots and radishes in Hello Cupcake! and the twins want them for their Cupcake Party tomorrow, so I thought I'd make them ahead of time. They are surprisingly easy to make, just time consuming. We don't seem to have the selection of candy that the US does (referenced in the book), so I had to use other types of candy for the pea body (I used wrapped chewy taffy) and the green licorice instead of skinny licorice (I didn't realize it came in green either - it's MINT licorice which sounds completely idiotic). The body of the carrots are Starbursts, the peas are mini M&Ms, the mushrooms are red and white fondant, the radishes are red Starbursts dipped in white chocolate also with green lace fronds.

I also made LEGO heads and bricks in fondant, but I haven't quite finished those. Fondant is a piece of cake compared to those carrots and peas!

Hope the twins have/had a lovely party and mom didn't have too much to do afterwards cleaning up :) Happy Birthday to them from us in CA!

Laura made the peas and carrots but it was tough with the limited types of candy available, and the wrong color/flavor varieties of the square candies (can't recall the name). We ended up with some sort of green licorice, which worked well but tasted ghastly. And I seem to remember a good deal of muttering as she attacked with them with the rolling pin. Yours are adorable, and love the mushrooms. You just need a teeny tiny dwarf underneath now!
